Note: The 77th regiment was also known as the Bemis Heights regiment. The name Bemis Heights and the regimental number, 77, were taken from the 1777 Battle of Saratoga, a decisive win for the Colonies against the British in the American Revolution. Bemis Heights was the last major engagement in the Battle of Saratoga.
