Glimpses of Maria Rogers' Life Beyond her Letters
Bedford Historical Society
Return
Silhouette of Maria Rogers' brother, George Rogers, in young adulthood, dated to around 1812 when Maria was fourteen. George apparently lived in Bedford for his remains rest in St. Matthews' cemetery, although in a separate section from the family plot of Maria.

A section of Benjamin Isaacs' will below indicates that another of Maria's brothers, Uriah, owed the uncle money. Following the request of Benjamin Isaacs, the estate lawyers calculated accrued interest on the loan up to the date of the proceeding when the balance was to be deducted from the fifth of Isaacs' estate given to Uriah's mother, Susan.
Research has not yet revealed further detail about the lives of George and Uriah or Maria's three other brothers, Charles, William, and James.
