i now Sit down to wright you a few Lines to tell you that i ame well and hope theas few Lines may find you the Same the Snow is about 6 inches Deeap hear thiss morning and it is very Cold hear to Dear you wanted me to wright if i had Got my Boots yet i have not But i went to the Suttalors and Bought me a Pair i had to Pay 8 dollars for them and it is a Big price i no But then what is 8 Dollars to a mans health hear for if a man Gits sick they think that hee had ought to Do Duty Just the Same and one day i was on Picket all day and it raind all day i Got my feeat wet and Just as soon as i Got in to Camp i Bought me a Pair of Boots and now i can Go on Picket in the snow up to my kneeas and not Git wet well Dear i suppose that you think that is a Big Price to Pay for a Pair of Boots But then Dear that is nothing to a mans health and i have giv up a Gitting the Boots that you sent to me But still they may come around all right Yet i hope that they will Dear i rote you in my Last Letter that we had marching Orders But we are hear Yet the oficers say that the 8th Corps are a coming hear to releave us i hope that they will and Let us take thair Place if we do we shall Go to Baltimore and Do Garison Duty our hole core have Gon But our Davision and i think that we will Go before Long i hope that it will Bee our Luck to Git in sum Good Plaice and stay the rest

of our time Dear i rote you in my Last Letter about Mr. Carpendar Beeaing hurt well Dear i dont want you tell it around so his wife will Git hold of it Becaus shee would feeal very Bad But hee is no Better hee is Crazy all the time and i Don't think thet hee will ever Bee eny Better But if hee Dies we are a Goin to send him home But i ame in hopes that hee will Git along Dear you sed that your uncal Pick was thair and that hee sent word to me not the Enlist again well Dear i think that i have told you times Enough that i would not and now i will tell you again that i wont By Dam By Dam i wont Dear i have Just Got your Letter No 2 and i Got that Lock of Hair that you sent and i ame a Goin to keep it till i come if it haint in 3 Years But then i think that you will See thiss chickin thair Befor that if i ame a Live and well All the Boys expect to Go home this wintar as so do i if i can Git thair and i shall try hard to come Dear Give my Love to Miss Bryant and tell hur to keep up Good courage for thiss wicked war will soon Bee ore and then Shee can Git a man that has Bin tride and Proved to Bee trew and maid out of Good stuff for I think a man that stand it hear is maid out of Good stuff i send my Love to all the Girles and tell them to wright So Good By for this time this from your Husband
