Alonzo Bump Muster Record

The Muster Record was a summary of a Civil War soldier's military grade, company, regiment, activities, transfers, advancements, and dates of enlistment, training readiness, and discharge. The document also provided information about a recruit's birth place, profession, and physical characteristerics.

 

 

 

At the age of twenty-six, hazel eyed, brown haired, five foot five inch Alonzo Bump entered the 77th regiment as a private in Company K infantry. Compared to the average Union soldier, Alonzo was about two and a half inches shorter in height and about one year older.
