Dear Wife

I now sit Down to wright you a few Lines to Let you know that i ame well and i hope that theas few Lines may find you the same It has raind hear for the Last two Days and it has maid it very mudy hear we have Bin undar marching Ordars for the Las three days and they Say hear in Camp now that we are a Goin to march in the morning and i don't know which way that they are a Goin But i think that we are a Goin to advance upon the Rebs if we Don't Git stuck in the mud as we did Last fall But i hope that we Don't for i don't want another such March as that was Dear thair is quite a stir hear in Camp thiss morning about reenlisting Some of the Boys say that they will reenlist if they can Go in to heavey artillary or the navey and Dear some times i ame a Good mine to Go and then i think that i wont But one thing is if a man Gits in to the heavey artillary hee haint Got to cary arounnd a nabsack and Gun and 40 rounds of cattarage hee is in a fort whare hee is stationarey all the time and a man that renlists Gits a 30 day furlow and Gits 7 hundrid Dollars But then one thing i think of and that is the Rigiments time is out in one year now and then we shall all come home But then thair is a Plenty of time to kill us all in that year But then if we have as Good Luck for the year to come as we have for the year past i think that the most of us will come Back and Dear i hope and pray to God that hee will spare my Life

to return to my family once more and Dear i think that thiss move that is ahead now will wind up the fighting for thiss fall for the roads are a Gitting so Bad that they cant move artillary and when they cant move that they cant move us Dear i have not Got my Boots yet thair was a Lot of express stuff come the other day But mine want thair and Dear A S Green haint come Yet and i don't know as hee will Before we Git in to wintar Quartors But i hope that hee will send me my ax if hee don't come for i want it now every Day hear and i hope that hee will come i was up and see wash Yestarday hee is well and in Good Spirits hee send his Best respecks to you all and Earll send hiss Love to Ell and hee ses tell hur that hee can see hur standing Betweean hur Loomes a talking as shee used to
Dear Give my Love to Jane Parker and to all the rest of the Girles that Bord to our house Dear i have sent you 8 dollars in Letters Before thiss and i have Got some Left and if you Don't nead it very Bad i would Like to keep it till i Git in to wintar Quartors for i think Just as soon as we Git in to winter Quartors that they will Go to Giving furlows and if they Do i want the mony to come with when ever i can Git my furlow for i dont want that to stop me not one minit for if i Live i want to come home tiss winter and see my Little famly right as soon as you Git this Oblige your Husband Alonzo D.
