Camp Near White Oke Church Virginia Dear Wife i now sit Down to wright you a few Lines to Let you know that i ame will and i hope that theas few Lines will find you the Same i recieved your Letter no 22 which was maild April the 6 and i was Glad to hear that your was well we are a having very Good times hear now we have enough to Eat and that is Good we drawd five Days rations Last night and i will Give you a Detail of what we Drod Potatoes turnips Beets Bread Poark Coffie Shugar molases and Carrots and we Live Like Peacocks in the Clovar now we haft to Drill 4 hours every Day and Go on Dress Paraid at sundown all but two Day and that is Sautterday and Sunday we have to Do our washing in But i Don't Do much washing for i Can git my Shirts washt for 8 cents apeace and that is Cheaper then i can Do myself and when i Git them they are Cleean Mary i tent with A S Green Earl Green and Wills Green and we have Got the Best house in our Company We have Got a Bed in one end of it we maid it to Day we went in to the woods an Got some Pooles and Some braches and Bilt us a Good Bead and we Got some Seeader Bows and Put on the Poles and it makes us a nice Bead Mary we have Dress Paraid now all together 5 rigiments all Go out in to a Big feald and then we all Dress in a Line and then we have a Brass Band that Plays the hole Lenth of the Line and Back then the oficers all ride up in frunt of the Geniral and salute him and |
